Peekaboo is designed as a local-first Mac app. Your recordings, transcripts, notes, screenshots, settings, and history are stored on your Mac.

What stays on your Mac

Audio transcription runs locally with WhisperKit after the model is downloaded. Peekaboo does not upload your audio or notes to our servers.

Website and purchases

We store first-party anonymous visit events to understand traffic and product interest. Visit analytics use a random visitor ID stored in your browser, the page path, timestamp, and basic referrer. We do not use fingerprinting. When you request a Peekaboo download, we store the email address you provide, the app version, source, timestamp, visitor ID, and a hashed IP value for basic abuse prevention and deduplication. Purchases are processed by Stripe. License emails are sent through Resend. We store purchase records and license keys so your license can be fulfilled and supported.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for admin login and security. We use first-party visitor storage to count visits and connect download requests to a browser session. We do not use advertising cookies.
